We were delighted with Peter’s training. The course was tailored to meet the organisations graphic design requirements. Some of us were learning these programmes for the first time and felt that Peter covered every aspect meticulously so we understood the basics. As beginners, Peter’s laid back style created a relaxed learning environment and the good rapport we had with Peter meant we felt we could ask questions at any time without compromising each others’ learning. Peter was completely approachable after the course if we had any questions regarding aspects of our training. As someone self taught in Dreamweaver I was at first unsure if I wanted to take on such intensive training but wanting to use the application at a professional level I decided it was necessary to give my clients a professional service.

The training was interactive and fun with workshops and exercises that engaged all aspects of Adobe CS2. This short three day course was enough for me to cut out the designer and gave me the confidence in utilizing a complex software package tailored for graphic designers of which I am certainly not(but I can give it a good bash). I met Peter Meehan from Big Rock Designs at the University of Leeds in June 2010, where he was teaching a three-day course on Adobe Photoshop with an aim to achieve the highly sought-after and difficult ACE certification.
From the word go Peter’s approach was extremely professional and focussed on the task; he was friendly and approachable, always open to questions and comments. On the other hand he adopted a no-nonsense practical way of explaining concepts, managing time perfectly. With a huge application like Photoshop and a group of students coming from the most varied backgrounds and different levels of knowledge the job in hand was difficult to say at least; however Peter went through his entire programme effortlessly, making sure that every single student was happy and confident about the exam.

Big Rock Design was recommended to us by a friend who had previously attended a course delivered by the company. We are in the restaurant trade and with constantly changing menu’s, promotions, advertising etc. we felt that with the ability to amend menu’s and produce artwork ready material that we could ultimately be more self sufficient in-house. From the outset Peter was very accommodating and provided a range of training options to cater for our needs. He also offered to deliver the training on site and provide Macs for the purpose. We opted for a 1 day course that incorporated some Mac and Indesign training, 5 staff attended. Peter provided a very well structured and practical training day that was delivered in a very relaxed and common sense manner. His style is ‘easy’ yet effective. I found the wordpress course very enjoyable and due to Peter's professional yet relaxed teaching style found the material easy to understand and now have the confidence to produce my own website. I would definitely recommend this course for anyone wanting to take control of their online marketing, but were to afraid to enter the world of the internet and SEO because it was to complicated to follow, as Peter overcomes these fears and gives you the confidence to do it yourself

I came across Big Rock Designs when I was seeking to update my skills in both print and the web, whilst I had some understanding of the software and SEO I hadn’t really involved myself that much with them.
The courses Peter delivered centred on using practical examples to support learning, e.g. creating flyers in Indesign, creating a Wordpress site and using different approaches to making yourself more visible on the web. I found the courses to be really enjoyable, interactive and engaging and feel more confident and capable in utilising my new knowledge and skills.
